This video is part of the "UP1989 Donner Pass Series". On July 31, 2010 I chased Union Pacific 1989 as it leads the ZCSLT. I was able to chase the train from Glenshire (Truckee) all the way to Roseville with stops like Emigrant Gap, Long Ravine, Newcastle, and a couple more. I was up there chasing this train with many other well know railfans like Steven Welch, Adam Pizante, Ryan Dadgari, Metal Mike, James Schlinger, James Davey and David Carballido Jeans. Check out any of there footage, and I hope you enjoy mine! Here is a shot from the foothills. It's of Tunnel 18 located in Newcastle, CA. Dispatcher 74 made UP 1989 take the ZCSLT onto track 2 at Bowman because of a stalled K train on track 1. This is one of my favorite shots because it has pretty good light, and a tunnel.
